Eyewear that transforms and elevates

Let’s be honest: some of us never had to say in the matter. The moment our third-grade selves squinted one too many times at the board it was game over. Glasses weren’t a choice; they were a sentence (and back then style options were… limited).

But today? Eyewear is having a major moment. From high-fashion runways to low-key coffee shop flexes, glasses have transcended their purely functional past to become bold, expressive style statements. Whether you wear them to read, to see, or to stun - It has the power to completely transform your look.

So when the opportunity came to step in front of the camera for a campaign with Black Optical themed: Great design never goes out of style, spotlighting some truly iconic frames, I jumped at the chance.

The transformative power of eyewear

A great pair of frames can do more than correct your vision – they can sharpen your aesthetic, frame, your personality, and project a whole mood. Want to look mysterious? Intellectual? Edgy? Quirky? There’s a frame for that. They are like make up for the bone structure.

They invite us to play. You can change your vibe with just one accessory. One day, you are vintage film star, the next your channeling avant-garde energy. And unlike shoes or lipstick, frames sit front and center. They speak before you do.

How to choose the right eyewear for you

Here are three golden rules:

  1. Start with face shape. Oval faces can wear just about anything. Round faces tend to benefit from angular lines. Square faces soften with curves. Heart-shaped face? Try a wing or upswept frame.

  2. Consider your lifestyle. Are you going for everyday wear, or occasional flair. You might want a minimal pair for your work and a bolder set for the weekend. (Trust me, eyewear wardrobes are a thing.)

  3. Don’t forget color. Skin tone and personal style matter. Neutral tones, like black, tortoiseshell, or gold are classic, but don’t shy away from Hughes that highlight your undertones or play up your personality.

The featured frames and their stories

JMM Zephirin

Jacques Marie Mage is known for artistry and exclusivity, and the Zephirin is no exception. Bold and architectural, this frame involves mid-century intellectual swagger. It’s a favorite of those who want to be noticed without saying a word. Check it out here

Kuboraum P16 in Desert Rose

Kuboraum isn’t just a brand – it’s a concept. Designed in Berlin, handmade in Italy, and meant to serve as “masks”, Kuboraum frames are where art meets attitude. The P16 in desert rose is soft, sculptural, and quietly avant-garde. It challenges, norms without screaming for attention. This is my personal favourite. Check it out here

Jean Paul Gaultier- Pas de Vis

Vintage, rare, and rich in detail, this golden relic from JPG‘s iconic eyewear is a piece of wearable history. With its screw motifs, arms, and sculptural form, it brings a sense of rebellion and refinement. Pas de Vis translates to “no screw”, yet the frame is literally covered in them and it turns heads every single time. Check it out here

Whether you’re a lifelong glasses-wearer or someone who just loves a good fashion moment remember: eyewear isn’t about hiding behind lenses. It’s about revealing who you are - find the pair that makes you feel like you, only sharper. Clearer. Bolder.
